Born in Morristown, Tennessee, Dr. William Taylor attended the School of Dentistry at Emory University in 1981. After graduation, Dr. Taylor completed two additional years of study in pediatric dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the highest-ranked dental schools in the country. He holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Pediatric Dentistry and a Master's degree in science. He also completed a one-year fellowship in dentistry for those with special health care needs. Known as one of the leading pediatric and special health care needs dentists in the region, Dr. Taylor draws patients from throughout the Southeast.
Dr. Chris Leyster attended the University of Washington, Seattle where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While in school, Dr. Leyster participated in many outreach opportunities to provide dental services and education for those with extensive needs and limited access. It was at this time he developed a passion for serving children and chose to pursue a specialty in Advanced Pediatric Dentistry. In pursuit of his passion, Dr. Leyster relocated to Los Angeles to complete his pediatric residency at the University of Southern California and Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital of Long Beach. During his residency, Dr. Leyster received extensive training in a wide range of modern behavior management techniques, proficiency in providing dental care for patients with special health care needs, and expansive experience providing modern sedation dentistry and hospital-based dentistry at the world-renowned Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and Children’s Hospital of Orange County. He is recognized as a Fellow by the College of Diplomates, and as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Leyster regularly attends conferences and lectures to stay at the forefront of preventive dentistry. He strives to educate his patients and their parents and looks forward to connecting with each patient and their family. Dr. Leyster is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Leyster is an avid music lover and sports fan, and cheers on many of the local teams, as well as his childhood favorite the Los Angeles Dodgers. In addition to his love for sports, he enjoys playing the guitar, hiking the outdoors, and spending quality time with his beautiful wife and two precious babies.
Dr. Margaret Maclin received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University (WAR EAGLE!) and her DMD from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She always knew that she wanted to work with children and therefore completed a residency in the Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry from NYU Lutheran in Providence, RI. During residency, Dr. Maclin developed a very strong interest in working with children with special health care needs. Accordingly, she went on to receive additional training in the area of cleft/craniofacial anomalies and management of patients with special health care needs (SHCN).
Dr. Maclin recently moved to Nashville with her partner Brian, and their Maltipoo, Tucker. They can't wait to explore all that this city has to offer. When not at work, there is a good chance you can find them at yoga, cooking healthy, gluten-free meals, distance running, and traveling to new and exciting places. Though her local community occupies most of her work life, she has been a part of multiple medical, dental, and academic mission trips throughout the U.S, Africa, Caribbean, Central America and Southeast Asia.
Dr. Maclin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and holds current memberships in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Tennessee Dental Association, The Special Care Dentistry Association, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.
